Raj Tents is primarily a high end tenting and décor rental company with a unique range and reach. Raj also specializes in custom manufacture of tenting and décor items for special events as well as sales of semi-permanent structures for resorts and for the home.

Raj Tents was founded in the Bay Area in 2004 by friends and business partners Dominic Mitchell and Maurice Walsh. Dominic, originally from Britain, had worked with high-end tent rental in London for a number of years and has a longstanding connection with India from living there as a child. Maurice, who is Irish, has lived in California for 20 years and was looking for a new vehicle for his business acumen.

Both Maurice and Dominic felt that, despite the number of tented events held in the US, there was a real lack of choice for those who wanted something other than the corporate norm. Hence, Raj Tents was born to remedy the deficiency with a mission to bring stunningly different tents and décor to the special events industry.
Raj Tents was quickly established as the industry leader in the area of handmade tenting, developing a range of inner linings for frame tents as well as continuing to refine their ranges of traditional bamboo framed tents and modular metal framed tents.

As Raj Tents were able to offer distinctive themes, from the Indian and Moroccan to French provincial, we were asked to provide lighting, furniture and accessories to match and have gradually enhanced our inventory to become a one-stop-shop for thematic tented events in many styles.

In 2006, Raj Tents made the move to Los Angeles, opening their new head office in the South Bay ready to serve Los Angeles’ different needs, from events to film sets and of course the rest of Southern California as well as nearby large special events markets such as Las Vegas and Phoenix. As more people have discovered the terrific value Raj Tents can add to an event, Raj have been engaged to do more remote events throughout the continental US and beyond. Another major development in 2006 was setting up a proprietary production facility in India. This better enables Raj Tents to innovate and develop our range for both sales and rental. Maurice handles the operational side of Raj Tents, specializing in event planning, installation management and marketing. Dominic works with custom projects, public relations, design and production.
